HKUST CARE 2022 Creates an Opportunity of Stocktaking Policy and Measures on Hong Kong’s Climate Adaptation and Resilience

Government officials, business executives, financiers, investors, technologists, and climate action practitioners discussed Hong Kong’s adaptation and resilience planning in the face of climate change with scholars of HKUST at the three-day Climate Adaptation and Resilience Conference (CARE2022) which was kickstarted on 10 December, 2022 and attended by about 1,000 participants.

The two sessions of Lightning Talks for IPO Faculty were held in person on 28 and 30 November 2022 respectively, providing a platform for IPO Faculty Members to exchange research and academic insights. There were 13 presentations in total, with topics ranging from weather observation, prediction, to evaluating policy challenges.

The final presentation of TEMG4950J “Corporate Consulting Project: Virtual Banking Strategies for livi” was concluded on November 30, 2022. After 13-week coaching by Prof. Betty LIN, Associate Director of Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP), and meetings with subject experts from livi bank and IBM, our students have designed innovative customer engagement strategies and tailored virtual banking products to tackle the real world challenge.

IPO Orientation Activities
Each year, IPO and programs organize orientation activities for freshmen to enhance their soft skills, communication and bonding, including the Local Orientation Trip for Environmental Management and Technology (EVMT) and Sustainable and Green Finance (SGFN) students, and the Survival Camp for Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP) students.
IPO Students Spread Ideas to CEOs in The Melo Summit 2022

We are proud to have 7 IPO students shared their voices at The Melo Summit 2022. The Melo Summit was co-created by 15 leading CEOs in Hong Kong and the 20 Melo Fellows from HKUST. Using the “student as speaker, CEO as audience” concept, the Summit was consisted of TED Talk-like speeches, sharing of invited leaders and panel discussions.
